When faced with a complex choice, try breaking it down into a number of simple decisions. While it may seem obvious that situations and therefore choices can be simple or complex, this can be deceptive. That is because we think that we know what is going on, but in reality, we offen don't know. Using intuition may not help us figure out what is going on, but it can take into consideration what we don't know. That is very powerful and one of the major reasons for using intuition. From practical experience, when it seems difficult to reach a decision or the choices we make do not work, it is good to consider that the situation may be more complex than we realize. Usually this involves an important choice because if it is not important, we won't spend a lot of time on it. When having difficulty reaching an intuitive decision, pay attention to the circumstances and be aware of your feelings. For example, Gale was trying to decide whether or not to buy a new truck rather than a used truck. He knew that he had a need for a different truck, and his intuitive answer was to buy a new truck rather than a used one. But he could feel an attraction to having a new truck. So did a new truck fulfill a need or a want? Using intuition, he found that the choice of a new truck was 70% need and 30% want. So it was both a need and a want. This also meant that although he was feeling the want, a new truck would mainly fill a need. (He used his intuitive method in a number of different ways before making this purchase and experience proved that it was a very good use of intuition.) Choices about Health: Everything seems to play out in the physical where pain and suffering get our attention. When we are sick or injured, sometimes the answer is simple. For example, if we have a headache, the choice might be whether or not to take an aspirin. However, if we have pain for no obvious reason, the situation is probably more complex. We can break it down by checking the percentages of possible sources like physical, emotional, karmic, spiritual, mental and perhaps others. If we find out that 70% is emotional, 20% is mental and 10% is physical, then we might skip the visit to the doctor or chiropractor and find other healing methods. Back to The Second Secret | ||
