Ancient Prophecies For Modern Times By Kathryn and Dannion Brinkley The Mayan calendar, along with the fact that it ends in 2012, is one of the driving forces within the realms of modern spirituality. What effect could the ending of this calendar have on us individually and collectively? Many experts believe that at the appointed time, we will experience an immense shift in global consciousness. In fact, some speculate a worldwide infusion of a new spiritual consciousness of oneness being introduced to humanity in order to replace our present mindset dominated by fear, greed, and war mongering. As a result of this influx of elevated awareness, it has been postulated that we will ascend into a higher dimension of cosmic reality, wherein we shall indeed begin to experience the beginnings of Heaven on Earth. WellÉno matter what is true, we do believe a change is coming. This past March, with 24 other seekers in tow, we embarked upon a sacred journey into Mayaland, deep within the jungles of the Yucatan Peninsula. Our hope was to discover the link between the past and the Mayan appointed date of destiny, December 21, 2012. According to the Mayan calendar, which is well over 2,100 years old, our current phase of Creation is set to end as a new era begins. Although we are not sure how, the ancient Mayans possessed full knowledge of only recently discovered astronomical and astrological placement and events. It would appear they were intimately aware of the elliptical orbit and basic topography of the planets in our solar system. Some of these planets were not discovered by modern scientists until this very century. A thousand years after the Mayans drew the very same planets, in precise position, on their temple walls. After walking these sacred grounds, we became aware of the fact that the Mayans had a far more advanced understanding of time and space than we do today, even with our present knowledge of quantum physics. What we discovered, less than two hours by air from Houston, were the relics and ruins of an ancient, incredibly advanced civilization. Obviously, the Mayan culture was deeply connected to the cycles and phases of the Earth and the Moon along with the rest of the Universe, with a particularly close connection to the planet, Venus. In the precision and grandeur of the architectural design and skilled construction of their vast urban centers and elaborate temples, this amazing civilization rivaled all of their contemporaries. At the same time the Egyptians were busy building their pyramids and India's Indus Valley was being decorated with sprawling temple complexes. Yet, these tremendous structures of the Yucatan stand among the largest and most awe-inspiring meccas in the world. From Secrets of the Light ÉIt is my conviction, based on the scenes from the Boxes of Knowledge described in Saved by the Light, that over the next eight years from 2004-2012 that humanity will experience tremendous mental and spiritual transformations that are interconnected and will coincide precisely with the earth’s passage through great physical upheaval. I sincerely believe a dramatic shift in consciousness will occur within this designated time frame, in order to set the stage for what is to come. Subsequently the spiritual and physical events happening on a global basis between 2012 and 2014 will render not only a new state of consciousness, but also a completely new state of being. In this new state of being, we will embrace an awareness of the parallel realms or companion spheres of life around us. And within that awareness we will possess the knowledge of our simultaneous existence within these multiple dimensional realities. I swear this is not as weird or fantastic as it sounds. In fact, with the advent of quantum mechanics and physics, along with the evolution of the string theory, what I am describing has been a par to our everyday reality since the late 1960s (when we successfully landed on the moon and invented the PC, cell phone, and DVD). Personally, I know these parallel dimensions to be real because I have been conscious of existing within them for many years now. In the early days, while I was recovering from lightning for the first time, orienting myself to more than one dimension was extremely tedious and tiring. Today, it is just a part of my everyday reality. I can become as involved or stay as detached from these realities as I choose. However, before humanity as a whole is elevated consciously to such a comprehensive multi-dimensional awareness, it is imperative that certain things be understood. There is no doubt in my mind that collectively we have the power to change the world. We simply have to collectively agree on the changes we want to see. The Dalai Lama says, “We must become the change we wish to see in the world.” If we were all to become the changes we collectively desire, just imagine what the world would be like. I think about it all the time: A world without war; a safe place to raise our children; a world without pollution; a place where equal opportunities are available to everyone, and freedom overlooks no one. How do we achieve this? Do you even believe it’s possible to create such a world? I do believe it is possible. The visions taught me that it is. The Beings of Light said, “History is not carved in stone; we have the power to change the future.” Yet, there are more than a few changes we will have to make in order to do soÉ My commitment is to the initiatives necessary to ignite a profound spiritual process for change on a global basis. From my personal experiences, both here and in the hereafter, I’ve been privy to the thoughts of the Celestial Beings regarding the righteous behavior expected of us as human beings. In a nutshell, humankind in general is expected to do everything that I personally have found so hard to do (like being consistently thoughtful, kind, nice, and loving.) For a large part of my life all these things seemed like a huge waste of time. It was a whole lot easier to knock someone out rather than wasting my time asking them politely to move out of my way!
